Cry baby noodles recipe

Cry baby noodles recipe: “Cry baby noodles” from the Netflix movie Hunger. I’m loving all the attention food dramas’ are getting all the way from Bear from Menu Menu and, now, Hunger. Crybaby noodles are basically an alteration of the classic Pad See Ew noodles and following my attempt to make the original recipe, I am confident that they are delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of noodles (such as spaghetti or soba noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

Step: 1

Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente and drain and place aside. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat some vegetable oil before adding sliced onions and minced garlic and sauteing until fragrant and slightly golden-colored this should take approximately five minutes.

Step: 2

Add bell pepper, carrot, mushrooms (if using), cabbage and salt/pepper to your skillet for stir frying until vegetables are tender-crisp. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, Sriracha sauce (optional), sugar (if needed), salt and pepper together before pouring over vegetable mixture in skillet.

Step: 3

Pour the sauce mixture over the vegetables in your skillet and mix to combine. Next, add cooked noodles to the mix, tossing until all ingredients are evenly distributed and coating as much surface area as possible with sauce and vegetables.

Step: 4

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes in order to heat everything through completely.
Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary, adding more Sriracha sauce if you like things spicy. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and enjoy your cry baby noodles hot!
